AZUSA, Calif. – Acme Portable Machines, Inc., a leading provider of rugged portable platforms and industrial LCD keyboard drawers, today announced the release of the world’s first rugged portable MicroTCA platform, the Versa 100.  Integrated with a full-size keyboard and a 15” LCD display, the Versa 100 is ideal for anyone who wants to develop, test or demonstrate their applications based on the fool-proof MicroTCA platform without spending too much engineering time, thus reducing development efforts, time to market and total cost of ownership.

 

The integrated backplane from ELMA provides three mid size AMC and two full size AMC card slots, the Versa 100 is the perfect portable platform for various advanced technology applications.  The NAT MCH system consists of Freescale ColdFire 547x 200MHz CPU, 16MB of DRAM, 16MB of Flash, GbE at Fabric A with a 2ndGbE uplink, SAS/SATA ports, Clock module with PCIe and serial debug connector.   The Versa 100 MicroTCA Portable platform utilizes Trenton Technology processor card with Intel® Core™ 2 Duo 2.26GHz processor, 2GB dual channel DDR3-1066 memory, Adlink storage card with a 250GB SATA drive, 15” LCD display at 1024x768 resolutions, and a 300W power supply in a compact rugged aluminum chassis.  The display is protected by tempered anti-glare glass. There are also options such as adding touch screen or upgrading to sunlight readable LCD to meet specific applications. 

 

Acme Portable’s MicroTCA platform is the first of its kind in the industry.  The modular design of Versa 100 enables higher flexibility for various slot counts, card heights, and component configurations.  The rugged COTS solution of Versa 100 also allows customer to select other MicroTCA card manufacturers to meet their specific needs. ACME Portable Machines Signs Distribution Agreement with Samwell Group to Offer One-Stop Shopping for Portable Rugged Computers

These new strategic product additions strengthen ACME’s position within the rugged computing industry, offering customers one-stop shopping for portable rugged computing products.

 

The RUGGEDBOOK SR800 is one of Samwell’s powerful, yet efficient, rugged tablet computers boasting a 10.4-inch touchscreen display with a dual digitizer. Powering this versatile tablet is Intel®’s 1.2GHz Core Duo processor, and standard 2GB DDR2 memory. Also standard is shock-mounted 80GB SATA HDD, 802.11a/b/g wireless capability, multiple I/O’s, and Windows XP Tablet Edition. The offered maximum of 7 hours batter life will allow users to enjoy nearly an entire working day without recharging.

 

The RUGGEDBOOK SR820 is a versatile portable PC brings netbook functionality to a rugged tablet form factor. The RUGGEDBOOK SR858 is Samwell’s convertible rugged notebook. This cost-effective rugged notebook utilizes Intel®’s 1.06 GHz Core 2 Duo processor, with a maximum of 4GB of DDR2 memory. It comes with a standard 250GB shock-mounted SATA HDD, 802.11a/b/g/n wireless capability, GPRS, and Bluetooth Class 2 v 2.1 with EDR. One also has the option of integrating a WWAN adapter. A whole cluster of I/O’s include 3 x USB 2.0, Gigabit RJ-45, VGA, RS232 serial, audio in/out, dock, and fingerprint biometrics reader. Acme Portable Introduces Rugged Portable Platforms with Intel® Core™ i7 processors, SATA 6Gb & USB 3.0 Port support

AZUSA, Calif. (Dec. 2, 2009) - Acme Portable Machines, Inc., a leading provider of rugged portable platforms and industrial rackmount LCD keyboard drawers, today announced that SATA 3.0 and USB 3.0 features are now available on its rugged Intel® Core™ i7 EMP portable platforms. With the fast SATA 6 Gb/s transfer speed combined with the powerful Intel® Core™ i7 processor, the Acme EMP series delivers maximum performance for multitasking applications such as geospatial information, EDA/CAD, digital/multimedia creation, and other CPU intensive applications.

 

The Acme EMP series sets a new standard in high-performance computing by integrating the latest data transfer technologies. USB 3.0 ports provide 10 times the speed (5Gbps) compared with USB 2.0 (480Mbps). The latest generation of high-speed storage interfaces, the new SATA 3.0 standard doubles hard disk drive performance with an amazing 6Gb/s transfer rate. And with a RAID 0 configuration the data transfer speed can reach 4 times that of SATA 2.0’s 3Gbps.

 

Support for i7 processors, SATA 3.0 and USB 3.0 is offered on Acme’s EMP370 and EMP390 models.
