ACME Portable Supports Intel® Core™ i7 processors On Their Legendary EMP Portable Series.

- Acme Portable Machines, Inc., a leading provider of rugged portable platforms and Industrial LCD keyboard drawers, today announced that it now supports the latest Intel® Core™ i7 processors on its rugged EMP portable computer chassis series. The EMP product family is well known to system integrators and value adder resellers for its ability to support powerful desktop applications using standard off the shelf components while providing a platform that is versatile and easily transportable. With its faster, next-level of multi-core technology, the new Intel® Core™ i7 processors deliver maximum performance for graphic and multitasking applications such as geospatial information, EDA/CAD, digital/multimedia creation, and other CPU intensive applications.
Intel® Core™ i7 compatible models include the EMP370 and the EMP390. Much more than a traditional portable computer, both EMP370 and EMP390 powerhouses boast an aluminum alloy housing and steel chassis big enough for a regular ATX or extended ATX desktop motherboard, Intel® Core™ i7 processor, DDR3 memory, up to six removable disk drive bays, space for a slot loading optical drive, up to 1000W power supply, dual cooling fans, space for up to seven full-length mixed PCI or PCI-e application-specific add-on boards, and a detachable 105-key keyboard/touchpad in the customer's choice of nine languages. An audio amp is included to support those presentations.
In addition, the EMP390 comes standard with a 20-inch, 4:3 LCD displaying 1600x1200 resolution. The more compact EMP370 is integrated with a 17-inch, 1280x1024 resolution LCD. Both displays are protected by a tempered anti-glare glass. There are also options but can be replaced with a resistive touchscreen to meet your specific applications. The EMP product family is designed with rugged constructions for meeting various harsh environments and customization. Each product has been designed to comply with Mil-Std 810F for shock and vibration, and CE, FCC and CCC for EMI compliance. Physically, the EMP370 measures 16.65"W x 13.58"H x 9.05"D and weighs 30 lbs. while the EMP390 is 20"W x 15.2"H x 9.84"D at weighs 39 lbs.
