The new EMP 350. is a robust lunchbox style portable computer equipped with everything needed for the road, seas and field with a 15" TFT LCD flat panel screen, keyboard, mouse touchpad and 11 expansion slots for multiple applications. These include military and field operations, field service and diagnostic applications, law enforcement and forensic, automotive, telecommunications and end users involved in multimedia platforms and OEM, ODM and integrators.
Built of heavy duty aluminum for rough and tumble situations, the EMP 350 can become many different computers via the 11 PCI, ISA or PCI/ISA full-length card slots with different passive backplanes. Cards can be solid state flash storage drives for mobile servers, diagnostic cards for testing applications, data acquisition cards for sampling data in the field and audio and video editing of large files on filming locations among many other configurations dependent on the user's requirements. Slots are easily accessed for upgrading, maintenance or on-the-fly reconfiguration of cards. Internal components are kept cooled by dual system fans.
The new computer includes two 3.5" shock mounted open drive bays and one hidden 1 x 3.5" bay. Each unit can be configured with a single high-capacity HDD, with a minimum 250 GB disk capacity, and the second bay configurable as a floppy disk drive, CD-ROM, CD-RW, DVD, DVD-R or combo drives. The monitor comes standard with a protected antiglare tempered glass for reading in sunlight and protection, but can be ordered with a transflective sunlight readable LCD. |
